19/10 Tango meets Flamenco
The evening is dedicated to the great master of tango Astor Piazzolla and celebrates the entire emotional register of tango, from melancholic melodies to passionate, assertive rhythms. Piazolla pioneered modern tango and his compositions are performed worldwide. With his rhythmic quirks and jazzy, avant-garde tunes, he added a whole new sound to Tango, which had previously merely been dance music. Piazolla’s instrument was the bandoneon, and for this concert we have the pleasure of presenting one of the great masters, Argentine bandoneon-player Marcelo Mercadante. He will be accompanied by Martin Buono on guitar, while Gustav Rey will perform the vocals. Together, these three artists will explore the world of tango with small detours to the exhilarating universe of flamenco.
Line-up: Marcelo Mercadante AR (bandoneon) - Martin Buono IT/DK (guitar) - Gustav Rey E/DK (vocal)
