At Nimb, we continuously work with concrete initiatives within areas including energy, procurement, transport and resource consumption.

At Nimb, our product choices are based on several criteria, including quality, seasonality, origin and availability. Where possible, we choose local ingredients.

Energy Efficiency

Our initiatives

  • We have installed solar panels on the roof, which contribute to our energy consumption.
  • Since October 2023, we have sourced electricity from a newly built solar park in Hoby on Lolland. The agreement contributes new renewable electricity to the Danish grid equivalent to the combined electricity consumption of Tivoli Gardens and Nimb.
  • Our heating source is district heating.
  • Motion sensors have been installed in the corridors to automatically regulate the lighting, thereby reducing the need for lighting when the areas are not in use.

Eco-Certifications

Small Luxury Hotels Considerate Collection

Nimb Hotel is a member of the Small Luxury Hotels Considerate Collection.

The Considerate Collection is a collection of hotels selected by Small Luxury Hotels based on a range of criteria within areas including the environment, local communities, local culture and responsible operations.

Hotels are admitted to the collection based on either a relevant certification or an assessment against the Considerate Collection criteria. Nimb Hotel became a member of the Small Luxury Hotels Considerate Collection in 2022.

Green Key

In 2024, Nimb Hotel was awarded Green Key certification.

Green Key is an international environmental certification programme for, among others, hotels. The programme sets a range of specific requirements for hotel operations within areas including energy, water, waste, procurement and other environmental areas.

Green Attraction

Nimb is an integral part of Tivoli Gardens. In 2022, Tivoli Gardens became the first amusement park in Denmark to be certified as a Green Attraction.

Green Attraction is an environmental certification for, among others, amusement parks, museums, aquariums and zoological attractions. The certification is based on the Green Key programme and sets requirements for the attraction’s operations across a range of environmental areas.

In 2021, Tivoli Gardens implemented an intelligent monitoring system that continuously collects data on energy consumption. That same year, the lighting in Tivoli Gardens was replaced with LED lighting.
