Elevated smørrebrød delights in elegant surroundings

Smørrebrød Celebration at Fru Nimb

Celebrate the classic in Danish cuisine as we open the doors to a genuine smørrebrød (open-faced sandwich) celebration at Fru Nimb. 

Indulge in a Smørrebrød Feast! Enjoy three lavish smørrebrød creations – a delightful mix of classics and innovative flavours. We will pair your feast with generous pours of beer, water, and your choice of white or rosé wine (all included!). Aquavit will also be available for purchase. 

Savour your meal for a full two hours while enjoying live music. Afterwards, explore Tivoli Gardens’ enchanting spring garden and discover more of the Tivoli Food Festival’s culinary magic.

Memorable dining experience in harmony with nature

Whole roasted game and gastronomy over open fire

Experience Nicolai Tram from the Michelin-starred restaurant Knystaforsen, serving a delectable dinner by the glow of a campfire. 

Nicolai lights his outdoor kitchen, setting a beautiful table amidst nature. Indulge in a terroir-driven tasting menu celebrating the wild surroundings of his Swedish restaurant, Knystaforsen. Ingredients are meticulously sourced: some from nearby rivers and lakes, others foraged from the forests, while game and artisanal products come from trusted local suppliers. Watch as Nicolai prepares your meal over an open fire, serving dishes family-style for a shared dining experience. 

Accompanying your feast, enjoy a selection of Nordic and European beverages crafted from fruits, berries, and, of course, grapes. Non-alcoholic options are equally curated, sourced from Knystaforsen or their close partners.

Can you guess the wine?

Blind Tasting

Join the Tivoli Food Festival and the Danish Championship in Blind Tasting team for a fun and informative wine competition in the Communal Tent by the Open-Air Stage.  

Do you know your grape varieties, regions, and vintages? Or maybe you’re just eager to learn and have some fun? Then this is the event for you! 

Under the expert guidance of Thomas Ilkjær (Wine Academy) and René Langdahl Jørgensen (Wine for Beginners podcast), you’ll sample three quality wines. They will teach you tasting techniques and what to look for. 

Compete against fellow participants to guess the wines’ origin, age, and grape varieties. Fantastic prizes await the top three winners! Whether you win or not, you’ll leave with newfound knowledge and a deeper appreciation for the world of wine. 

Registration is required to participate. Prior to the competition, you will receive a registration email, which must be completed before you arrive at the Communal Tent by the Open-Air Stage. 

You must be over 18 years old to participate.

Flødebolle Workshop with Cakenhagen

Flødeboller, a beloved Danish sweet treat, are chocolate-coated treats with marshmallow foam filling atop a wafer base.  

Join expert pastry chefs Silje Vestergaard Jürs and Adalheidur Dogg Reynisdottir from the Cakenhagen patisserie to create your own! 

Meet them at the Community Tent by the Open-Air Stage for a demonstration on crafting these exquisite local treats. Learn how to add delicious flavours, sprinkles, and other toppings. 

Cakenhagen, a Tivoli Gardens haven for those with a sweet tooth, opened in 2017. This classic Danish pastry shop boasts a seductive French twist. Silje, hailing from a baking family and trained as a pastry chef in 2023, is a valued member of the Cakenhagen team. Adalheidur, Cakenhagen's head pastry chef from Iceland, has embraced Danish pastry culture – especially flødeboller!

Experience the tastes of Restaurant Paafuglen, Figaro, Kilden, Fru Nimb, and Cakenhagen as they unite to create a special Tivoli Gardens menu just for you.  
 
This unique opportunity allows you to visit five of Tivoli Gardens restaurants in one communal table seating in the Communal Tent by the Open-Air Stage. 
 
The menu will feature five small dishes; one from each of the participating establishments. The dinner will conclude with coffee and sweets from Original Coffee & Lakrids by Bülow.

Danish Championship in Blind Tasting

Experience the captivating art of blind tasting at Nimb, Axelborg, as the Danish Championship in Wine Blind Tasting unfolds. Witness the thrilling competition as Denmark’s finest palates go head-to-head, identifying wines solely through smell, sight, and taste. 

Ready to try your own hand at blind tasting? Your ticket grants you a unique opportunity to taste the same four finalist wines alongside the expert competitors. In addition to the honour of participation, the audience members offering the most correct answers also win a prize! 

Join us for an exciting afternoon of sensory exploration. Test your skills against the best with four exquisite wines. 

Last year, the finalists tasted the following wines: 

  • 2007 Comtes de Champagne, Taitinger, Champagne, France – Chardonnay
  • 2021 Swartland Skerpioen, Sadie Family Vineyards, South Africa – Chenin Blanc + Palomino Fino
  • 2017 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er cru Estournelles St. Jacques, Frédéric Esmonin, Burgundy, France – Pinot Noir
  • 2017 Brunello di Montalcino, Le Potazzine, Tuscany, Italy – Sangiovese
